The Foundation
The Aquatis Foundation, created in 2007 under private law, is recognized as being in the public interest. Its mission is to promote environmental education and sustainable development.
To achieve this objective, the Foundation is pursuing several actions:
- It fosters the development of a aquarium-vivarium dedicated to freshwater ecosystems and their biodiversity.
- It provides financial support for research and development programs in key areas such as education, museology, aquariology, communication, new technologies, renewable energies and development cooperation.
- Within AQUATIS Aquarium-Vivarium Lausanne, the Foundation proposes and finances conservation and preservation initiatives for freshwater aquatic environments, temporary exhibition projects, lecture series and educational activities to raise public awareness of environmental issues.
The Aquatis Foundation is a key player in environmental education and sustainable development in Switzerland and beyond, thanks to its commitment and concrete actions to preserve biodiversity.
